Welcome to the International Space
Innovation Centre

The International Space Innovation Centre (ISIC) drives innovation and enterprise, creating new technologies and developing applications and intellectual property for the benefit of the UK. Launched in May 2011, ISIC is a not-for-profit organisation based in the UK formed between industry, academia and government.

ISIC was established as part of the UK’s Space Innovation and Growth Strategy, which sets out to grow the sector’s annual turnover from £6bn in 2008 to £40bn in 2030.

As an independent, collaborative body, ISIC’s core ethos is to listen to our customers’ needs. Our role is to inspire, enable and drive innovation. We do this by raising awareness of ways other market sectors can use space-derived data and technologies to develop new products and services to enhance their business. Through our networks, ISIC can connect the appropriate expertise to help identify solutions – including the right partners and funding routes.

ISIC also provides a unique European capability with state-of-the-art facilities, including an Operations Centre, Security and Resilience Unit, Visualisation Centre, and Applications Innovation Centre. In addition, we enable access to facilities owned by our member organisations. Access to all these facilities is supported by the world-class expertise available through ISIC.
